Cannot Delete Static DHCP MAC/IP Mapping

Hi,

We're running an ASG220 version 7.504.

When I try to delete an entry from our Static MAC/IP Mappings I get the following message:

"A dhcp->mac_map object is required by a dhcp->server object. Will delete the using object, too."

To see if what would happen is what it looked like, I deleted the entry. Sure enough, it wiped out all our static DHCP entries AND the DHCP service on our LAN. The static entries are outside the dhcp range of the service.  Luckily I was able to easily restore from a backup.

I thought I used to be able to do this in earlier versions. Any thoughts?  How do I delete entries I no longer need/want?

Thanks,

Jeff

  • Jeff, can you submit a support request via My.Astaro.com?  It sounds like you've uncovered an "unintended feature" in V7.5.
