Changing external interface from DHCP to static

I apologize if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I have searched and haven't found an answer.

Initially I installed the gateway with the external WAN interface as a DHCP client. I recently switched to Static IP addresses and have 5 usable static IP addresses.

My question is, what is the procedure to change the external interface from a DHCP assigned address to a static address.

With any big change, I always begin by loading a configuration backup onto a USB memory stick in case I have to go back to where I was...

It's really easier than you hoped: edit the interface definition, modify and Save.

You may have to disable the EXT interface before editing it, btw.
