Can I replace NIC On Astaro?

I'm in the process of upgrading my network to gigabyte.  So I'm trying to swap out NICS in all my machines.  If I swap out my astaro LAN NIC with a gigabyte NIC, what will happen?  Will it auto detect it, plus the drivers?  Any recommendation on doing this?

Oh and its probably pointless to do a gigabyte NIC on my WAN side right?  Since my Comcast is only 6MB Down and 1MB Up ?

    You might get lucky if you can choose a gb nic that can use the same driver as the card you're replacing.
