[SOLVED]DHCP Server double Assignments

Hi there

ASG: 7.502

I setup a couple of static mappings for some machines.
But it looks like the DHCP Server is not checking these reservations when assigning IP Addresses.

See attached screenshot and logfile entry.

2010:01:24-15:00:08 adieball dhcpd: if Schleppi.dieball.local IN A rrset doesn't exist add Schleppi.dieball.local 43200 IN A 192.168.100.249: timed out.

2010:01:24-15:00:08 adieball dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.100.249 from 00:1b:63:b9:fa:0d (Schleppi) via eth0

2010:01:24-15:00:08 adieball dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.100.249 to 00:1b:63:b9:fa:0d (Schleppi) via eth0

How can the DHCP assign .249 when .249 is reserved?

Hi,
The static mappings need to be OUTSIDE the lease range.

e.g. if your lease range is .240-.250, the statics need to be above 250 or below 240.
