Cron Job for External NIC

Hi

I am looking for someone who will help me setup a cron job which will disable and enable after 5 sec. the external NIC of my ASG 7.50x.

My external NIC is connected to a VDSL Modem/Router running in Bridge-Mode. The Network interface config of ASG is setup as Cable Connection Type. I can't configure it as PPPoE with VDSL flag, because the authentication is done directly by the VDSL Modem (Swisscom). And since Cable Conn-Type has no automatic reconnect options like PPPoE available (maybe next ASG version?) i will try to solve this with a cron job.
Will that work?

We have a customer using an Astaro with a Swisscom VDSL. But there we could do it by configuring it as a PPPoE (see screenshot). The MTU is important.

I know that Swisscom sometimes does that different, depending on the location.

i setup this connection type like the pic but i dont get any up link.

i switched back to cable modem (dhcp), which works. but reconnect option is missing. thats why i would like to setup a cron job doing this for me. but i am a total noob with linux. [:$]
