Hi,
I thought this issue was resolved but unfortunately it is not. I had some time today to do more extensive testing.
I am testing typical production network tasks on this Astaro and I am having issues with some basic functionality for any network.
DNS redundancy is basic.
This is my setup;
All systems -> internal DNS -> internal DNS forwards to Astaro
If internal DNS is down then;
All systems -> Astaro DNS
DHCP Server Setup:
Interface: Private
Range Start: 192.168.0.10
Range End: 192.168.0.30
DNS Server 1: 192.168.0.2
DNS Server 2: 192.168.0.1
On the Astaro, the DNS network service has the 'Private (Network)' listed.
When everything is up all works perfectly but if the internal DNS server goes down then nothing will work. It does not seem that the Astaro will roll over to the secondary when the primary does not respond. I do not have this issue with any other type of setup, Sonicwall, Windows, Smoothwall etc.
What could be wrong? Does the Astaro need something else for this to work? I cannot find anything that gives me a clue in the user manual.
If I am to deploy Astaro into a production environment I need some of these basics to work, DNS redundancy, DHCP scope options, DHCP Relay.
Anyone have any answers? Does Astaro Tech support answer questions on this forum? Will they help with the free product?
Thanks,
Mike
