DNS Throughout all Interfaces

Hi,

I assume that each interface, each network, would use it's own DNS which is basically the ISP except for one network in which there is a DC and a dedicated DNS server. I have three networks setup on my device.

I am finding that the network with it's own DNS is affecting all the networks on the Astaro.

Aren't all the networks or interfaces separated from each other with its own settings, that should only affect its own network?

    Hi, how do you have the DNS proxy configured on Astaro, and how do you have your computers configured for DNS?

    What do you mean by "affecting all the networks".

    I usually try to program redundancy into my infrastructure.

    I had the network that had its own DNS included as one of the networks on the Astaro's global DNS configuration along with the other networks.

    Each interface is configured to use the Astaro as it's DNS except for the network with the DC. This interface is configured to use its own DNS as the primary and the Astaro as the secondary.

    This configuration allows the computers in the network with their own DNS to continue to communicate out to the internet even if the internal DNS goes down or becomes unresponsive.

    The problem that this has created on the Astaro is that the Global DNS Setting, that has all the networks defined including the network with its own DC, seems to stop responding with this other DNS on the system. As soon as I remove the network, in the Global DNS Settings, with its own DNS everything starts working in all the other networks except now I do not have any redundancy on my netork that has its own DNS.
