Backup/Restore question

Hey all, quick question. If I move Astaro to a machine with different hardware and restore the backup from the original machine, will that try and restore the NIC hardware config as well? I'm moving to new hardware and it has different NIC's and I don't want to have to rebuild all my filter/nat lists by hand if I don't have to. But I'm afraid if it restores the NIC info as well I wont be able to gain access to the box again and will have to reinstall everything. Anyone know exactly what the backup contains? TIA to all.

    Hello,
    I know this is an old post, but I'm suffering from pretty much same problem. I'm running SophosUTM v9.309 VM with two NICs on esxi 5.1, and I just attempted restoring the backup file onto new VM (same version) hosted on esxi 6.0 also with two NICs assigned. After restoring I lost WAN interface, and after reboot I lost connectivity to both NICs locking myself out of the webadmin. I went to the console, and tried configuring NICs from there, but no luck. After comparing MACs I'd realized NIC names (eth0, eth1) were swapped between interfaces, so I went to override this by swapping names in 70-persistent-net.rules file, but after reboot those names stayed the same. 
    I'm clueless at this point how to workaround this problem. I don't feel like creating all those rules all over again.
    Is there any fix for that?

    BTW, I've also tried modifying the backup file before restore, but that doesn't work...

    Hm why don't you just swap the order of you two NUCs in the VM? Won't that help?
