Backup/Restore question

Hey all, quick question. If I move Astaro to a machine with different hardware and restore the backup from the original machine, will that try and restore the NIC hardware config as well? I'm moving to new hardware and it has different NIC's and I don't want to have to rebuild all my filter/nat lists by hand if I don't have to. But I'm afraid if it restores the NIC info as well I wont be able to gain access to the box again and will have to reinstall everything. Anyone know exactly what the backup contains? TIA to all.

    Kevinb, I'm in the same boat. Installed 7.502 on a pc with 3 nics, long hours configuring system with no issues. Was going to use this system as temporary until I could revise my Poweredge server (new gigabit nics) with 7.502 installed with current backup from the temp system. Well, before doing this I wanted to test this senerio out, so I made a backup of the temp system 7.502 pulled one of the nics (intel gigabit) and left the remaining two (3coms). I wanted to use the Intel gigabit in the server since it has one exactly like it. Loaded 7.502 from a CD onto the temp system, everything went well. Configured to the point were I could get access and see both 3coms on the dashboard/interfaces/hardware. I then proceeded with the restore and that went well to the point I logged in. The dashboard showed 3 nics (intel gigabit, and 2 3coms) eth0,eth1,eth2 were before it showed only the 2 3coms eth0, eth1. I then checkedthe interfaces and that only showed the 2 3coms but then checked the hardware tab and it shows all 3 nics. The problem being this machine only has the 2 3coms in it and the intel was removed. I've done this 3 times with various pulls/switching of the 3coms and each time is the same. So there does seem to be an issue with a restore, but could be something to do with me trying on the same system each time. Still does not make sense when is lists hardware that does not exist?
