Backup/Restore question

Hey all, quick question. If I move Astaro to a machine with different hardware and restore the backup from the original machine, will that try and restore the NIC hardware config as well? I'm moving to new hardware and it has different NIC's and I don't want to have to rebuild all my filter/nat lists by hand if I don't have to. But I'm afraid if it restores the NIC info as well I wont be able to gain access to the box again and will have to reinstall everything. Anyone know exactly what the backup contains? TIA to all.

    Ok guys, that did NOT go well. [:)] I installed ASG on a different machine, same number of NIC's, upgraded to 7.501 and then restored the backup from the previous 7.501 system. Got locked out of the system, all access died, etc. Reboot didnt help. Had to reinstall and start over. I guess the backups are somehow tied to the NIC config/drivers?? All IP addresses on the new machine were the same so all I can figure is that the backup IS tied to the hardware somehow. [:(] An option to only restore the actual system config (everything BUT the hardware stuff) would be nice for situations like this where the hardware is different. Thanks for the help anyways guys!

    Kevin, I've swapped many customer's systems, changing to totally different hardware (hardware upgrades, migrating from ASG appliances to custom hardware, etc.), and have never had an issue.  My guess is that possibly the new hardware had some NICs that aren't on the HCL (thus leaving you "short" on assignable interfaces), or they weren't properly detected by Astaro.. that, and realize that Astaro (Linux) will assign interface numbers to NICs in all sorts of wierd orders, which will vary based on the hardware installed.  The backups aren't tied to hardware drivers for NICs, or any of the other hardware for that matter.
