I have a DSL line for surfing and another symmetric internet connection for everything else (some webservers, email, etc.). The symmetric line is the default GW. http surfing is configured by policy routes.
now sometimes the DSL interface goes down for no reason. It's not a 24h disconnect. That does happen too but it reconnects without any problem after that.
This is what happens in the pppoe log:

this continues forever then....
I have to restart the DSL modem to get it back up. But it works fine! I tried to connect with a laptop without rebooting the modem after this happened and it still works! So there has to be a proble with the astaro but I can't figure it out!
Also: Whenever the DSL line goes down and shows link and state down in the dashboard a lot of my packet filter-allow rules don't work anymore! For example I can't reach my servers via rdp (tcp 3389) from my vpn connection anymore and i see a default drop in the packet filter.
When I turn the interface off, because i can't get to the modem to restart it soon enough, the packet filter returns to normal and surfing is done over the symmetric line and everything works fine except for the DSL line of course. When I turn on the interface again it still can't connect unless I physically restart the modem. Maybe unplugging the cable and reattaching it helps too - didn't get to check that yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
Edit: This behaviour has only been happening since I updated to 7.5
Edit2: Everytime The DSL Line fails I get this email (I don't get it on a standard 24h reconnect):
Cron Task Scheduler not running - restarted
