ASG 220 - Unable to connect with PPPOE

I recently changed ISP's that require going from a static IP to obtaining an IP through PPPOE.  I have all of the settings correct and was able to test the connection with my windows XP Laptop and was able to connect properly.  When I change the WAN settings I receiving the following errors from the PPPOE live log.

2009:10:07-18:49:57 TPROUTE pppoe-sh: DSL connection time shorter then 60 seconds (0 sec): Error? - wait 5 seconds

    Which Version are you running?  Have you tried rebooting the Appliance yet?

    I have rebooted the device a few times while attempting the switch to PPPOE.

    Did you reset the modem (turn off, wait 10 seconds, turn on)  already?

    I would give it a try and replace/change the modem.  I had many times DSL problems be fixed magically after replacing the modem by a different one - although the original modem showed everything fine (green lamps, good connection and so).



    What DSL provider are you using?

    We have a wireless provider and PPPOE is the method they use in order to assign IP addresses and connectivity to the internet.

    wireless pppoe? never heard before of such a thing. 

    sorry, no more idea. If you have bad luck, te pppoe implementation inside the ASG is only capable to work with real DSL lines - I have no clue.

    Nullx, can you give us all a better idea of what the wireless device is?

    It is a wireless radio running 802.11B - comes into a power injector and from there goes to the router.  I am unsure of the exact model the wireless radio but will find out later this weekend or on Monday.  It is weird to me because this works without problem on an XP machine and I know another company in the area using an Astaro product with the same ISP.

    Right.  I'm sure it's an issue of settings, but you got the best guesses possible already, so it's time for precise details.

    I was able to get it working correctly.  I switched from using eth1 to eth2.  Once I went to configure the eth2 interface I was presented with more options and was able to configure the port as needed. Thank you for your help to this point.
