how to get username knowing IP address of currently inactive OpenVPN connection?

how to get username knowing IP address of currently inactive OpenVPN connection?

also,
how is it possible, that /etc/openvpn folder doesn't exist, but openvpn running using config file from that folder? Did I miss something and I need to look somewhere else?

Thanks

  • disregard this question. answer is impossible. after 2 hours on phone with astaro tech support... well, it's usual answer I get when I e-mail and/or call them...
  • If it's not in /etc then it'd be in /var/chroot...

  • What version of Astaro are you using?  If you are using one of the latest, you should be able to get the information you need by clicking on 'Remote Access' to see the list of 'Online Users'.  Does that resolve your issue?

    Cheers - Bob
PS You also can connect IPs and usernames in the IPsec VPN log.

  • it's not anywhere. i need info on user who WAS logged in earlier, not logged in now.
  • this problem could have been prevented, if astaro used verbose 4 instead of verbose 2 in openvpn.conf file
if you want to change it, edit openvpn.conf-default file and change verbose level. then restart openvpn from the admin panel.
  • abunin, the information about a user logged in earlier is indeed in the IPsec VPN log, and it is very easy to find.

Please keep your argument with Astaro out of these forums.  You will get more and better help if you don't antagonize the others here.
