[7.402] 2 adresses on network-card and VLAN?

Hi,

My scenario:

2 companies in the same building. We want to share internet, but don't want to share the same ip to the internet or same lan. I have a Intel Quad card in ASG, and wonder if the following is possible:

* Create two separate ip's on one (1) physical network card (WAN). Using additional adress option??
* Create two different local networks on two physical ports of networkcard. 

IE: eth0 = lan1, masqed to ip1 on WAN
     eth1 = lan2, maswed to ip2 on WAN

* Use VLAN to separate the two local networks.

Is this possible like above, or can it be done in some other way?

    I'm not sure why you would need VLANs - seems like an unnecessary complication as you do have enough ports to do what you want.

    I'm thinking that you can't do this though until V7.5 arrives.

    Maybe you could put a switch in front of the Astaro, then use two separate Ethernet ports for the two public IPs.  That way you can at least masquerade each separate internal network to a separate public IP (interface).

    I can't remember, but it also seems like there might be an issue with the HTTP Proxy.

    Hi,

    Sorry, i forgot to tell the status of the ports. There's only 1 port free on the Quad. Currently using eth0 (lan), eth1 (WAN), eth2 (DMZ). 

    So i would need to get this going with only one free port.

    Is this still possible some way? I haven't tried the option with additional adress on a port. Would it work the way i want?

    Can't you use the 4th NIC port for the new LAN?

    As Bob said, Masquerading to a second IP won't work until 7.5.

    VLANs work fine though; see my sig below.
