Domain name and website name conflict

Hi,

Unfortunately our domain is called the same thing as one of our websites.  Which means it cannot be accessed internally.

With our previous FW I had a DNS entry on our internal DNS/DHCP server that pointed the www record to the websites IP address, however this is not working with the Astaro.

Any ideas most welcome.

Kind Regards,

FB

  • Either create a static entry in 'Network >> DNS' or in the forward lookup zone on your internal DNS server.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply.  I already have it in my Forward DNS zone on my internal DNS server.

I tried adding a static route but this did not work either - I think I am missing something obvious...

    Any suggestions?

  • If your internal server already has the entry and it still doesn't resolve, it sounds to me as if there's soemthing wrong with your DNS configuration internally.

Can you resolve the www. adress to the IP you configured in your internal DNS server?
  • I agree. Show a picture of the configuration in your internal DNS.
