WebAdmin and Postgresql down

Hi there,

yesterday I tried to open an 80MB logfile, freezing the WebAdmin Frontend. I rebootet the machine using the membrane keys. Unfortunately, during startup postgresql does not come up and the WebAdmin and the user portal don't work, displaying only the following:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.


I tried to login via local console, but I cannot remember having set a root password and other users do not work.

Hope anyone can help.

Using ASG 320 with V7.401 (says the display of the asg)

    Since you have a 320, you probably have official Astaro maintenance; I'd start a case with Astaro support asap.

    Our policy is to configure each unit we sell to email a daily backup to the local admin and to our Astaro archive.  If you have a recent, unencrypted backup, put it on a USB memory stick, insert it into the ASG, and reboot to restore.

    If you continue to have the PostgreSQL problem, then, like Bruce says, you should open a ticket with Astaro.

    Astaro suggested to contact my retailer for support. I doubt thr retailer support guy even knows the ASG320 runs Linux.

    Finally, I reinstalled the ASG software and used a backed up configuration. Unfortunately, all logs are gone and i cannot find out what made the DB crash.

    That config file on a USB thumb drive actually worked for me.  My 320 with 7.401 just wigged out on me and wouldn't let me log in.  Webadmin didn't even come up, and putty connected but it kept rejecting my LoginUser Password.  I recently upgraded from a 220 to a 320, don't know if that has anything to do with it.  The upgrade actually went smoothly.  I just installed the config from the 220 on the 320, installed the license and I was golden.

    This was a little unnerving.

    What logs should I post so we can determine why I became unconnectable?

    Number2, unless you continue to have this problem, in your spot, I would just forget it.   Unless you know the exact time the problem began, it would be difficult to see if it was some random glitch or cockpit error.

    Schoeffel, did you try the restore first and still had problems?
