Adsl2+ ppoe

Hello,

I have recently upgraded (fresh install) to 7.4 for ASG. I have a adsl modem/router that i can simply put in bridge mode to connect to nic innerface on ASG box for authenicating back to ISP.

Last night i found it was down & no matter how many reboots etc it would not connect back up. I thought it was a problem with ISP but was told their end looked fine & they assumed it was an authencation problem & i should factory reset my modem. I did not explain modem itself was not doing the authenication.

I instead took ASG offline & connected directly back through the modem changing it from bridge to ppoe & it connected without issue & as of this message is still up.

Can anyone shed some light on what may be causing this problem for me please & if so what i can do to fix it.

If the modem is in full bridge mode, setting Astaro up for PPPoE on that interface should work, (and it sounds like you had it working).

Try recreating the PPPoE interface on Astaro and try again?

I've used it like that with a ADSL2+ connection no problem.

Yes thanks for the advice. Resetting the link seemed to have fixed it. Odd though how this just stopped working.
