network for departement

Hi Friends !

How do i create/configure a network with astaro where i have 4/5 departement and i want to quarantine each department (vlan ?) for secuity resone (virus,bot,spyware,date leak,etc)
and broadcast

Either a firewall with an interface for each dept., or use VLANs.

Interface = NIC.
Install more NICs.

Barry, I think your VLAN idea was better for what I know of his client. What does he need to do or confirm at his client site if he wants to try using the VLAN approach?

The switch and the NIC in the firewall must both support 802.1q VLANs.

Setting up my NetGear switch was rather confusing, but it works fine now.
