Hello everyone,
today I wanted to replace an old router (BELKIN F5d-8230, ALL0333Bv2 DSL-Modem) with a brand new ASG, unfortunately I can't get PPPoE to work.
When the ASG tries to establish a PPPoE connection, the pppoe-log shows:
, name = "***@de.aol.com"]
2009:02:18-12:54:52 (none) pppd-pppoe[6758]: rcvd [LCP ProtRej id=0x3 02 02 00 26 10 23 b4 a2 14 57 ea 16 b1 2c 2c 5f 6e 2b 64 d0 0b 61 6e 79 61 67 6f 40 64 65 2e 61 ...]
2009:02:18-12:54:52 (none) pppd-pppoe[6758]: Protocol-Reject for unsupported protocol 0x202
This repeats with various protocol number (0x2**) after which the modem hangs up.
To be honest, I have no idea, what's causing this. I did some research and apparently one reason for such errors could be that the DSL-port at the provider (in this case Deutsche Telekom) is missing updates. Unfortunately I don't know much about PPPoE so I can't tell whether this is true or not...
What puzzles me is that as soon as I plug the dsl-modem back into the old router, the connection is being established.
Any help would be very welcome!
Thanks in advance
