eDir backend is case insensitive

I'm running 7.305 with eDir backend. I recently discovered that when logging into the WebAdmin or to the proxy auth dialog, passwords for users are case insensitive. The only explanation I could imaging for this is that they are being compared directly to the user's NDS password (the old ones that weren't case sens), and skipping NMAS altogether. 

Shouldn't it be NMAS aware, or at the very least just use LDAP (which IS NMAS aware)?

EDIT: OK, I take that back, I don't think its Astaro, I think its the way I've got stuff setup. /facepalm. Ignore me for now.

    OK, It was how I had things setup. Turns out, you have to set an evironment Variable to get eDirectory's LDAP server to look at NMAS before the old NDS password. I hadn't done that.
