Can't PING Server

I don't know much about DNS but I know it is necessary in order to translate 'Names' to 'IP Addresses'.
I can ping my server's IP address but not its name. I can ping any device behind the Astaro Server by Name or IP.

Here's my configuration:
(Astaro software running as VM under VMWare ESXi)
Internet -> Linksys Router -> External NIC of Astaro
Internal NIC of Astaro -> PC's/Printers/WAP54G Access Point

Router and External NIC subnet = 192.168.1.x
Internal DHCP (from Astaro) subnet = 192.168.16.x

Like I said, I can ping everything but the server by IP or Name, I just can't ping the server by name. The internal NIC is on the same subnet as all PC's and all PC's point to the internal NIC as the Default Gateway.

Hi jcargile,

What DNS server are you using and has that DNS server been configured to perform the forward and reverse lookups?
i.e. does your server name and IP address exist on the DNS server?

The only DNS server I have is Astaro.

Under Network Security -> Packet Filter -> ICMP Tab, is allow ICMP on firewall checked? How about "firewall is ping visible"? Try checking one of those.
