Quick DNS Question

Hey Everyone:

Running ASG220 V7.305.

I've added both our Primary and Secondary DNS servers (as provided by AT&T and defined by me in Definitions) in the "DNS Forwarders" Box.

Below, I've checked: "Use forwarders assigned by ISP. Currently assigned forwarders: none"

Is the none normal? Everything works great and I was just curious as to why it says "none"

    If you're using DHCP or PPPoE from your ISP, it should show forwarders if you've checked the box. Perhaps it takes a bit to refresh?

    If your ISP isn't providing DNS settings, you'll need to add Network Definitions for them and assign them on this page.

    Hey Barry,

    I've added two DNS forwarders (that have been previously defined in Network >> Definition, as you'll see from reading my initial post).

    My ISP provides both a Primary and a Secondary DNS server (my two DNS definitions).

    My question was, is there any reason why it says "none" or is that irrelevant in this case since everything resolves fine and both of my DNS definitions (as per my ISP) are defined and inserted in the DNS settings.

    If everything's working, it's irrelevant, although this may be a "cosmetic bug".

    It shows in mine, but I'm using DHCP from my ISP... are you?

    Yes, I believe it is a cosmetic issue as well.

    No, we have a static pool of IP's from our ISP.

    If you don't use DHCP, it's not supposed to do anything.

    I suppose "N/A" could be displayed in that case to make it clearer (*feature request*)
