ftp problem

first... excuse me for my bad english.

  i work with program of expeditions and this program send this expeditions for ftp protocol to external IP...

   When i put this rule:   source: internal network   protocol: ftp     destination: any  all work fine but if i disable this firewall rule and active the ftp proxy... the expeditions are not sent tu external ip.


      What´s the problem ??? what ip put in expeditions program... ip of astaro or external IP ??

    Good question.  The FTP server you are communicating with probably does some kind of authentication with your expeditions program.  Try adding the host to the 'FTP proxy skiplist' on the 'Advanced' tab of 'Web Security >> FTP'.

    I don't know about what IP you should put in your program.  If it needs a "gateway" address, then that would be the 'Internal (Address)' of the Astaro.  If it needs the address of the FTP server, then that would be the public IP used to reach that server.  If you are accessing the FTP server to let it know your address, then that will be the 'Extrernal (Address)' of the Astaro.

    The easiest way is to start the proxy in transparent mode. Nothing has to be changed on the client, i.e. you have to use the external ip of your ftp server.
