Automatic backups not sent to email address

Hi guys,

I am running ASG7 Version 7.201. Under Management -> Backup/Restore -> Automatic updates -> I have set a weekly backup which should be sent to two email addresses. But the backup files are not received by these addresses. Where could be the problem?

If your ISP blocks port 25, you'll need to configure your ISP's mail server as a 'SMARTHOST' in Astaro's SMTP proxy config.

Search these forums for SMARTHOST if you need more info.

It's an internal Exchange Server. All Email traffic is being forwarded correctly, also Reporting notifications are being sent.
But with the same settings backups are not. I believe it's a bug [8-)]. Has anyone tried this feature yet?

Did you check the log files? Especially interesting would be /var/log/notifier.log and /var/log/system.log for the time when the backup should have been sent.

Thanks Andreas, it was not a bug [:D]
I had to activate under Management - Notifications - Notifications Tab - the line Configuration Auto Backup by Email
