FTP Proxy fails...

Hi:

I have enabled the FTP Proxy in version 7.201 and if I try to ftp to any anonymous site I get a connection reset message in IE.

I tried using smartftp and it doesn't give me any error message at all.

I also tried from the command line with no success.

I looked in the Live logs and I cannot even see my client initiating a connection.

How do I begin to troubleshoot these types of issues with ftp?

Did you setup IE to use the ftp proxy? I don't think it runs in tranparent mode.

A command-line client definitely won't use a proxy (unless it's transparent, which I don't think it is).

No, I assumed it would automagically do ftp over http.

I also tried a few ftp clients but I'm not sure what to use for settings.

There isn't anything in the ftp log either.

I just get the "connection with the server was reset" message in IE.

Hi all,

ftp-proxy only runs in transparent mode! So if you want to use a ftp-software like Filezilla, make sure that your client-gateway points the firewall and NO PROXY is configured in Filezilla. If you want to download files via web-browser, you don't need ftp-proxy, cause you can handle this via http-proxy (ftp over http).
