Email notifications not delivered to local domain

I have an interesting issue that has developed.  I am no longer receiving email notifications for events or executive reports delivered to our internal mail server.  I haven't changed anything that I know of that would affect that.  If I put an external email address in it works.  It even has my internal email listed as one of the recipients, but its not getting to my exchange server.

Any ideas?  I have tried removing the local emails and entering them again, no luck.

    I found the problem.  I had added request routing in DNS on the firewall to point the local domain to my internal DNS server so I could get more name resolution for internal IP's.  What I didn't realize is that I did not have a .com MX record on my internal server, only a .local MX record.  Once I added the it to the .com, everything started working again.

    had found an "unroutable address" error in the SMTP log file that lead me to my DNS server for MX records.
