Detail web pages traffic per user

I'm not sure, but if not, you could probably download the http proxy logs and run them through SARG or another proxy log reporting tool.

yep, i know it, but it's not "user friendly" operation to set up syslog server, search for free or pay money for reporting tool [:(]

I believe it did yes

After update from v6 to v7 in July 07, i ask astaro support where we could find the detailled Surfprotection Logs.
The answer was that V7 is not an update from V6 but a total new designed software. 
Thats the reason why the logging functions are less complex than in V6. 
Astaro could not say when the per user surfprotections logs will become available in V7, but they working on it.
Maybe if a lot of customers ask for it, Astaro works a little bit harder

i think the timestamp is missing and for our customer important to see if his employees are surfing during worktime or after work hours. I would also be nice to see a user and cobian category log.

ok, details:
top users - can see bigger traffic, but can't see the details per traffic - urls list. i can't see users web blocked pages statistic - which pages with what traffic. 
how i can see most bloked users and see it pages?

Well we have ARM (Astaro Report Manager) inc the syslog server and it's no better really you still can't get detailed logs of all sites a particular domain user visits. Support say its not even a planned feature!

Not much use as a web filter if you can't determine who is doing stuff they shouldn't be!

Astaro, come on..  V7 is a big joke, reporting still sucks..  I am still unsure how on earth you won the SC magazine awards.  I can only assume they did not test logging

It easy to blaim you need more information, and V7 reporting sucks, but which information are you looking for? Which report are you missing?
Please help us to make the product better and fullfill customer expectations.

We have all the data in a database, but I don't want to end up with 240 web reports just to make sure everybody has his interpretation of needed reporting in there.

From the other posting i read you expect:
- Top blocked Domains
- Top blocked Users
- Top blocked Domains by Category
- Top blocked Users by Category
- Top blocked Domains by User
- Top blocked Users by Domain

How would you define the report to show if a user surfed during the working hours or after? But is that enough detail, as most employes i know need to use the internet for work tasks? How do you differentiate between productive and unproductive surfing?

Than i understand you expect more drill down reporting, ok, we are working on that.

BTW if you want URL lists, just add the username and the domain name in the logfile search window, this gives you a url list of every request made.

Well I for one think all of the above would be good. ARM has some of these but not a domain user one that is configurable.

I get requests from departmental heads and the Human resource dept to give  summary reports ie - top X web users by date/time showing domain user names because ip's or computer names are useless to anyone other than IT. Then depending on who shows up they will request a detailed report for a particular domain user account showing User Name, web site visited, length of visit, date and time. This info can then be used in a disciplinary. 

I would think this format would be a fairly standard request for anyone needing to report on user web activity.

Talking about a wishing list.
Please add to Reporting » Web Security the ability to see the log in an hourly resolution.
It would make it easier to spot users that are using most of my band right now, and in general, see what is happening right now.

By the way, why - like in kaspersy for example - don't you open a special subject in this forum called "Wishing list" ore something?
I think it would be very useful both for us and for Astaro...
