Why was my post about Daily Spam Digest removed?

If you're the moderator who removed it, at least have the decensy to send a private message explaining why. If you think it's a duplicate, with respect to the heading I agree with you, but the contents are definitely not. And if you feel still is, then at least send me a link or a procedure to try. You had the time to remove my post; you certainly had the time to send a feed back.

BTW, try removing all duplicates from the forum and see what you get?

Yes, I've already checked and searched the forum but haven't found anything
usefull to help me with my case.

Hey, we're the people that helps resolve problem in Astaro and we help each other out....because you cant do it all yourself. If you're acting irresponsibly, then you don't deserve to be a moderator.

    I notice a few of mine are missing also. Something must have happened with the forums. 
    "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." - which in this case, stupidity is software. 

    Why so quick to jump down someone's throat when it simply might have been a glitch?

    Maybe I was a little too quick. I'm reacting due to past experience here as well as from other forums...I've yet to experience a post removed by a software glitch. Perhaps, this will be my first...

    Looks like some posts were lost, I seem to be missing a post that I made yesterday as well.

    Last night, everthing between the 15th and 20th was missing. I posted about it. That post is now gone, and there are posts again between the 15th and 20th. I'd guess a crash, or a 2-step move to a new server.

    I too noticed that a week of postings was missing and reported that. I wasn't told exactly what happened, but some things are currently moved around (or have been moved around) and this seems to be a side-effect.

    Sorry if a posting of yours got lost, maybe you can post about it again? I can't remember ever having deleted a posting which was not 100% spam.

    Thanks Andreas. My post has something to do with the Daily Spam Digest not working for me. That is, I'm not receiving a notification of emails currently in quarantine.  I've posted my configuration in hope someone would look at it and maybe point out where the problem maybe...another set of eyes always help when troubleshooting.

    I've made some configuration change last night but won't see the effect until 24-hours later. If it works, I'll make sure to post it. If not, I'll repost my settings.

    I apologize for the quick burst upstairs... [:)]

    Hallo,

    i cant create a new thread ;-(

    I have problems with daily reports....in the report under "console login" are 2 points:

    Successful logins: 0
    Failed Logins: 3400

    Is the normaly?? How i can see, which IP does want to login??

    what browser are you using. Firefox is the only that works reasonably consistently. I still get problems with IE6 and 7 on XP machines. My laptop is stable and doesn't give to much trouble, but my new Vista 64 machine is causing a bit of grief. Also Microsoft have done a large number of security changes recently that really stuff things up. I wish I could find where to disable their dictatorial approach to desktop security

    What I forgot to say was occasionally this site doesn't update threads and you need to refresh your webbrowser to see your posts. This post did not showup on my webbroswer until I refreshed the display. I thought I had been typing too long and the session had been timed out.

    sad as it is, nowadays this is quite normal. Those failed logins are probably all due to SSH scanning, people trying to break into your system by trying to brute force their way in with the use of username/password lists.
    You can check the SSH log for more details, including the source of those attacks, but there is not much you can do against it except for disabling SSH on the external interface, or change the listen port to something non-standard.

    Or you can do as we do, set up a packet filter only allowing SSH logins from particular external hosts.
