Question regarding user in /etc/passwd/

Checking the /etc/passwd and found the following user:

chroot:x:666:666:chroot user:/var:/bin/false

Is this by default in version 6.305?

  • Yep, absolutely normal...  I guess the user ID "666" had you wondering, eh?  THat chroot account is used for the chroot "jail" services.
