Internal DNS Name Server not working

Newbie to the astaro 220 unit.  V 6.303
Was able to configure everything successfully but cannot get it to correctly use our OSX server as the internal DNS name server.
Figuring everything is accurately configured on the name server side of things, (which I'm almost certain they are) I should only have to point the forwarding name server to our OSX server and allow that on our internal network.  Right?
Our DHCP server first IP points to the name server.
Other Forwarding Name Servers are obtained from ISP.

I feel there may be one big step I am missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If more information is needed I would be glad to supply it.
