External email notfication

Hello all,

Running V7 on a home LAN, I'm trying to send the notification emails to external addresses, as I don't have any mail server !!

I cannot figure how to configure ASL to send the mail to my ISP SMTP server and "masquerade" the sending address, except by modifying the conf files..

I'm sure I'm missing something here and that some of you can help me [:)]

    I assume you are talking about your own e-mail? you need to enable a packet filter rule to allow port 25 out.

    internal network -> smtp (port) -> any -> allow.

    If you are asking about the ASG sending notification e-mails, you need to ensure that there is an address in the notification field. These are sent from the ASG using the SMTP functions within the ASG regardless of you enabling them or not.

    I think, your problem is, that your ISP wants authentication before accepting emails from your Astaro.

    Switch on the smarthost in the SMTP-Proxy and you will get the notifications to your postbox at hte ISP
