This is a new feature request:
It would be really nice if Astaro Security Gateway V6 could serve as a reverse HTTP proxy, such that the administrator could configure a rule to associate host header with a target host and port.
The current Generic Proxy almost does this--but it does not allow definition of a host header (and obviously is not inspecting HTTP requests).
One way this could be used: suppose you are hosting a service for 3 clients. There is a single host, and three separate applications each listening to a specific port. You could then set up 3 DNS CNAME aliases pointing to the Astaro gateway (client1.myco.com, client2.myco.com, and client3.myco.com), and configure Astaro to forward requests to the correct host and port.
Other reverse proxy solutions: http://www.octagate.com/, http://www.fastream.com, and Apache. But it would be really nice to manage this directly in Astaro.
