SOCKS Service just for one user ?

Hello,

I have no experience with astaro but am obliged to use it because my boss has it to protect the network. Right now there is only an HTTP-Proxy installed. I asked to also have a SOCKS service but he said that it might not be possible to have it just for one user.

So I wanted to know how to set up such a configuration for just one IP (which would be mine). Thanks in advance,

    Easy:

    1. Create a network definition for your IP if it doesn't already exist.
    2. Enable SOCKS proxy if it isn't already enabled.
    3. Add your network definition to the Allowed Networks.
    4. Optionally enable/configure user authentication as well.

    Oh well, that sounds easy enough. Now I just have to hope that my boss thinks the same ...

    If I have a fixed IP though and all the others get theirs through DHCP, is there a way to tell DHCP not to assign mine to anyone else ? Although ... If the SOCKS service is password protected anyway, it wouldn't matter ...
