Problem in HTTP Proxy Usage Reports

Hello Ian,

I didn't get your question. I am verifying IP usage report by using just the "HTTP Proxy Usage Report" under "Reporting" Menu. I am using ASG Appliance v6.203. Is there any level option to set the HTTP Proxy usage report?

Hi,
on the proxies->http page there is a box labelled "log level" that should be set to full.
Next, you need to make sure that all users can only access ports 80/443 through the proxy, so their internet acess software (IE, firefox whatever) needs to have it proxies enabled and set to point at your ASG internal address.
You need to ensure there is no filter active that allows ports 80 or 443 out.

To achieve this I only allow ports tcp/udp 1024 and above out and have the pop3, smtp, dns, socks, sip and dns proxies active.

Very Thanks Ian for your suggestion. 

I realised what you said a couple of weeks ago. I removed the 80 port from filter but not 443. Just now I removed 443 also from the filter rules as per your suggestion. However I mentioned the proxy information in all the clients browser as they could not browse once i taken out 80 from filter. Although some IP's started to appear in usage reports but still the problem persists.. as still I can't see my IP itself (I mentioned proxy in my Firefox browser as well as IE but still very rarely it shows my IP on the Proxy Usage reports).

I will observe couple of days more if it shows the ip or not and will post the result again

Two things.
1/. did you enable full logging in the http proxy?
2/. there was a bug in v6.203 that caused the IP addresses not to report in the http usage reports. While 6.300 has fixed some of the missing info, I am still not getting IPs in the blocked or the Cobion reports.

Maybe I need a full restart to see if that fixes the missing info, but I doubt it as the other missing info was updated after install of v6.300.

Hello all,

I am back again.

After upgrading to v.6.300 and having Full Log in HTTP proxy it still never shows up all the IP's there were using the HTTP proxy.

But I found something I believe the problem is from the Wireless Router (DrayTek Vigor 2900G). Coz all the clients connected through physical enthernet cable are showing up in the access logs. Only the clients who are accesing over Wireless network are not showing up.

Does anyone have any idea if there is some sort of settings on wireless routers which is making astaro not to log the IP?

There appears to be a bug in the HTTP reporting software. It only provides IPs in allowed pages, the other 2 reports only show @ for all IP addresses.

While I know I am not entitled to support being a home user, I have notified support of the issue.

I haven't tried wireless connections since re-enabling full logging, but will later today my time and report back tomorrow.

I have used my laptop over a wireless connection for the last couple of days and it only shows up in the logged connections.
