Generic Proxy

Hi,
First to say im am pleased to se the generic proxy support. However...
Maybe I dont understand how the new feature works but I am currently under the impression that it is ONLY for inbound traffic. [:(]
I would be pleased if it would be possible to use it from say Internal (Network) SSH -> ANY -> Same Port. [:)]

As i have understand it this will not work, You can't have any as destination.

And i also wonder why you can't select services that have a portrange?
Will these features be able in the V7 or are these things final?

Hi.
After reading the OnlineHelp, I'm still not sure, what's the advantage of the Generic Proxy that the NAT can't handle!?
Is it some sort of reverse proxying or what!?

Hi!

It is an reverse proxy yes, The advantage with a proxy is that you dont have a direct connection to the hosts.

But - as described in my previous post -> as long as I can see no log with extended information about what's going on, it seems like a DNat only masquerading the requesting IP ...

.. still confused [:O]

We already use a reverse proxy for our WebOutlook. So I wondered if we could turn off that machine and do it with the generic proxy feature!?
Just tested it with another DMZ HTTP machine, but when I create a generic proxy for that machine, I cannot connect to it from the internet! Only if I create a NAT rule it works!
