Accounting inaccurate?

Hi,

I know traffic accounting is an arcane art and very difficult to calculate.

However my ISP and Astaro disagree hugely on the amount of data reported.

6/8/05 My ISP says I did : 2023MB
6/8/05 ASL says I did : 1418MB

(ASL reporting on RED interface only, no excluded nets).

Will do more testing, but does anyone know of any issues with it?

    is your isp quoting both ways?  Some ofthe discrepancy could be garbage the firewall blocked which means it would have passed the isp's counting point but not made it to the Astaro counter since it got killed by the firewall.
