High availability

Hi. I'm trying to run high availability with 2 pcs and v5.203 but both pcs freezes when booting. I did it successfully with v4 and 2 licenses, but now I only own one and its the same for both pcs. Do I need another license to turn high availability on? Well, I can turn it on in both pcs, but doesn't works.

    Thanks for the answer. Yes, my license is HA active but things have changed a bit from yesterday: now I have HA active on both pcs; I power on pc1 and when is booted I power on pc2; when pc2 arrives to login/passwd screen, pc1 is shutted down automatically.. why??? and now, if I boot again pc1, in login/passwd screen pc2 shuts down..  [:S]e please

    Hi,

    thats normal, when there is a NIC configured, but has no link. So the internal health check thinks it has an defect NIC and powers down, to let the slave take over. 

    Check your configured interfaces, and check if every configured card has a link. 
    Had the same trouble with a machine with 4 quad NICs, until we realized that one interface was on the wrong eth device   .

    ooohhh thanks a lot!!! that's was my problem, I had 2 NICs with no link.. now HA works great. Again, thanks

    Seems that HA is working right but I'm not very happy with this log:

    It happens when I change something in the master firewall (10.0.14.1) and cannot have a good connection with slave firewall (10.0.14.2). Is that normal? I think the right thing is that if u change something in slave it will change automatically in master and viceversa. Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    just had the same trouble after an upgrade of one HA Config  to 5.203. The upgrade literally killed the HA function, resulting in Master didnt boot at all, only the slave (Hurray for QA). 
    Dont have a working solution in the moment for the problem. Will try it next week.

    Hi,

    got one confirmed kill while updating one ha installation to 5.203 [:)]t cant start the confd.
    Will reinstall the appliance, hope this will solve the problem.

    well, after upgrading to  v5.204 I have the same report for HA. Its not working correctly and I dont know what to do. I also tried v6 but same problem..
