No reporting graphs at all

Hi All

After installing ASL V5.xxx on a PC that ran ASL V4.xxx previously for over a year without a single reboot :-)) all reporting graphs are missing.
The PC is a PIII 1GHz that I upgraded from 256MB RAM to 512MB. It’s a 100 IP license and the machine has 3 NIC’s. I installed V5.2, the license and imported the V4.xxx backup.
Everything works fine, except the reporting graphs, there’s not a single one of them!
Even the latest up2date to V5.201 didn’t help.
Any suggestions?

    Thanks for your checklist.
    I checked the system according to your suggestions, here’s what I found.
    - ASL is runnging for a couple of weeks now, so time can’t be a factor.
    - Which graphs are missing? All of them. (I get the Executive daily report, but all graphs are empty, I do get the numbers though, for example in the HTTP page section I get the number of requests, but no corresponding graph.) 
    - The problem started right after the upgrade from V4.xxx to V5.xxx
     
    Number 6 in your checklist is ok too, all files are there, cron runs, but when I ran /usr/local/bin/reportcontrol.sh I got the following errors:
    rrdfile /var/log/reporting/rrd/interface_ppp0.rrd does not exist
    error updating it rrd –check /var/log/debug/log.network-reporter
    Argument “_” isn’t numeric in numeric ge (>=) at /usr/local/bin/reportgen.pl line 199

    And 
    Argument “_” isn’t numeric in printf (>=) at /usr/local/bin/reportgen.pl line 787

    Hi,
    that is not very nice but should not be a showstopper. What about the images in "/var/log/reporting/images/" ? Normally, this directory should contain the graphs that will be dsiplayed in the reporting pages. They should be generated every 5 minutes by a script called "/usr/local/bin/create_rrd_graphs.pl" . If they are not created automatically, try to run the script manually.

    Regarding the showstopper :-)
    Yesterday I checked the images in /var/log/reporting/images and they're all there where they should be. So just to be on the safe side, I ran /usr/local/bin/create_rrd_graphs.pl which ran without a hitch, but also didn't make a difference!
    Still, no graphs.

    I guess, the next step will be a new install.
    Any ideas beforehand?

    I figure that it might be a problem with the report generator script. During V6 development I encountered a similar issue; probably a backport would be needed. I doubt that a re-install would help. If you are daring, you can try to copy the reportgen.pl script from a Version 6 beta to your Version 5. :-)
