Root partition mounted at / is filling up

I am getting email notification every hour with the following message. I do not have any up2date files pending and am on the latest build. I have checked the proxy content manager and there are only 8 small emails listed. How can I track down the source of this problem? Is there any way to tell how close to full the Root partition is? Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Goto to Reporting -> Advanced. There you can see the used disk space.
    On console the command is 'du -h'.
    Use the command 'df -sh *'
    Go through the directories to find out the source of the probem. There must be a big file or something like that.
