Webadmin Login password changed

Good morning,

I got the problem, that i got automaticly logged out from webinterface as admin and then i tryed to login again but the Webinterface say all the time that i have entered a wrong password. I dont understand it, because i dont have changed any passwords. I hope someone can help me.

    got my password back with that help

     Code:
     If command line access is available (root password 
    required), a user may edit /etc/wfe/conf/settings with "vi" 
    or "joe" to change the line that says "reset_pwd = 0" 
    to "reset_pwd = 1". Upon saving the file and exiting, the 
    admin may immediately navigate to WebAdmin and re-specify 
    all passwords for the system accounts of Astaro Security 
    Linux. 
     

    But why the Firewall change admin password automaticly?

    It shouldn't have ever.

    You didn't forgot pass?  Or perhaps had CAPS on?
    Or someone else got in and changed it?

    I'm sure someone else must be having your password and a user is automatically logged out of WebAdmin only on 2 conditions:
    1) Your WebAdmin times out due to no activity.
    2) Someone else logs onto the WebAdmin from another site or computer.
    In your case, if the password was not being accepted after you logged out, it definitely means someone else forcefully got in and changed the admin pass.

    Tip:
    Always create a backup Admin for WebAdmin so that in case you have some problem with the Admin, you can easily log in with the other admin.

    I had the same problem.
    Thanks for the hint which helped me to get rid of this troubble.
    Is it possible that someone had been able to break the firewall and change the passwords? But why didn't he change the root password along with the admin's one?
    Likely it was me the one that, without thinking too much, changed the admin password ages ago and had been so stupid not to write it down somewhere or had chosen such a safe place that it resulted unfindable at all.
    The matter is that Astaro firewall is the only piece of software that is really up and going since such a long time without the need of any intervention that we almost forgot it. Unfortunately it is the only unix-like software we have in our company.
