I see that 5.1 is supposed to support Bandwidth monitoring. Does anyone know where this feature is? I have looked all over and searched the forum to no luck. Thank you, Ben
did you try this - I had a look and it made no sence at all
they ask for the speed of your connection and then a percentage ? of what my speed ? so I will be notified if my comnnection slows down ? I thought bandwidth was how much people were downloading I am on cable, if it slows down or speeds up that will happen to every one in the country (new Zealand)
suppose you want to be informed/warned by the ASL in case the average traffic rate on one of the interfaces a) exceeds a given limit b) falls below a given limit.
Then this traffic monitoring is the feature you probably want to use.
The Astaro solution asks you to enter the maximum traffic rate (bandwidth) on the interface for each direction, then to specify the min and max values as a percentage of this maximum.
Note that the 100% value needs not be equal to the speed of the interface card, because there might be a known bottleneck on the routing chain to the Internet provider, in which case we enter a smaller value into webadmin's text field.
