Strange warning emails

Hello!
One of our customers in Moscow receives strange warning emails since 5.022. They look like this:

We told him this behaviour would be fixed in 23, but apparently it is not.
The firewall itself works fine, but these emails bother the local admin.

    We already know about it and are working on a solution. httpd-loopback is the local http server used to deliver error pages for the proxies. alicd is the licensing daemon. Do those messages occur on a regular basis?

    here's a screenshot just from today. and with this service restarts i have daily downtime more times a day - hope you guys fix this soon....

    and every 20 minutes:
    alicd not running - restarted....

    I reinstalled the machine, cause mailboxflooding, but after the update to 5.022  the error appears again

    And it will continue to appear. It took us a while to find out why this happens, but in the meantime we found the reason. In fact, the processes are quite stable. The problem behind all that is the starting/stopping/restarting of those processes. In most cases, the reason for the process not running is that there has been either a configuration change and the process must be restarted or the process is restarted automatically every X minutes.

    Now the problem that we have is that the stopping/starting/restarting of that process takes too long. The selfmonitoring detects that the process is not running (since it is already restarting) and tries to (re)start it, which can result in a race condition leading to the sending of those mails you all know.

    This problem exists since the beginning of Version 5. Because the selfmonitoring notifications were disabled, this did not annoy anyone. The easy and quick solution to customer satisfaction would be to disable the selfmonitoring notifications again. Instead, we decided to cure the cause of this problem - the starting and stopping of processes - to solve this problem (as we think) "the right way". That implies a lot more changes and a lot more testing is needed, and that takes it's time. Please bear with us - we are at it.
