High CPU usage report needed

it would be nice to have an alert mail for continued high cpu usage(and i mean percent cpu, not that system load thing, or maybe both).
right now the only way is guessing the load from the virus update mails that come every hour

    I guess Guillermo means some kind of alert because of exceeding xy% of cpu usage (over certain time) or having more than x.y processer per user. The same data can be seen from the daily executive report, but as Guillermo stated (related with the hourly report of pattern updates) he would possibly like to find that out more quickly. Not bad, but how many admins really need that?

    no idea how many admin would need that...
    i certainly want to know when my CPU peaks for X amount of time(i'll say 10 minutes above 90% is bad) WITHOUT having to check it all the time.

    William, i don't want to have to access the box all the time, there's no point in that

    I'm running zabbix here, zabbix_agentd installed very easily (static build) on astaro.  It records and monitors many paramters about the performance of the box, has alarming, etc.

    I trust it's values more than the stuff I get from ASL reporting.

    are you using v5 or v4 with zabbix?  And did you ahve to add any files are anything like that or was it a straight install?

    I wish 5.x would show CPU % in the graphs instead of just load numbers.

    version 5 of ASL, I ran zabbix on version 4 of asl as well.  The install was simple, then tune a few parameters in the zabbix console.

    Biggest issue is linking zabbix_agentd statically.
