remote syslog server

Hi,

I would like to config a syslog server. I enabled the 'remote syslog server', defined and selected a syslog host but the list of available logs is empty.

We use asl 5.016

    We discovered this ourselves this morning:

    This problem is caused by the backup mechanism: the file ewc/local_logs.ph is included in the backup file, so it will be reset to an older version when a backup is imported. Backups made prior to version 5.013 will leave the "available" field empty. Auto-backup when doing a factory reset is also affected.

    You simply need to get a newer local_logs.ph file back to your ASL. There are many possible solutions: copy one over from another ASL, re-install the rpm package it belongs to, rewind your version and update again (starting from 5.012).

    I would like copy this file from another ASL. Could you show me the correct mount command for floppy, please.

    There is not even a kernel module for floppy. You need to do it over the network, the easiest thing would be using scp.
