Internet access limited by time...

I’m running ASL 4.021 with Proxy, user authentication and static IP addresses on the client side. Because of our limited bandwidth I would like to allow Internet access limited by time. It could for example look like this: Group A (IP addresses …) are able to browse from 10:00.-12.00, Group B (IP addresses …) are able to browse the Internet all the time.

Does somebody have the same requirements or already a solution? Does version 5 have a solution for this?

If you have surf protection, you can autheticate the users with a RADIUS server, where you can set a time limit for several users.

If you want to block net access completely, you could segment users into different subnets and update rules in /etc/wfe/conf/packetdata from crontab-static (but that would presuppose that you were proficient at writin scripts).
