Incoming SMTP Proxy

I am attempting to setup the incoming SMTP proxy in ASL 4.0.21.

Question: Does ASL require an internal DNS server hosting an MX record for [example] 123.com to use the SMTP Host parameter  ':: by DNS MX record ::' ?

I am asking because I use no-ip.com to host my MX records.

    Have some more info to you now open command promt and type:

    nslookup

    set type=mx

    123.com

    And you will se if your MX records is okey,hope it helps you

    Ok, i think something has been lost in translation. Let me attempt to ask the question differently.

    If I am serving mail behind an ASL 4.0.21 firewall, but NOT hosting any DNS records, will using the '::by the DNS MX Record::' SMTP host option under the Proxies->SMTP Proxy->Incoming Mail cause any problems with the forwarding of mail? What is that option for exactly? Is it to pass a DNS query for the MX record to an internal [but publically accesible] DNS server that is also behind the ASL firewall?

    The Online help seemed a little vague on the specifics.

    BTW: Yes, the MX records are hosted at no-ip.com, and yes, they point to the right place, and no don't use 'nslookup'--use 'dig' for windows [BIND official util]. Technically I am not having a problem, I just wanted to ask some questions before I ran into any.  [:)]

    If you will send mail you must tell you mailserver to forward all mail to your ASL box. Do you run your own mailserver behind ASL box? And what mailserver you run? In sendmail you must tell sendmail your mailgateway= ASL box
