SMTP Proxy HELP

hi all,
I've some questions about the SMTP proxy:
1) ASL act as a trasparent proxy working also over static nat or i have to config the MX record to point at the ASL external NIC address (not natted)?
2) if I've a DNAT like any->my_public_ip DNAT web_server, and a filter like any:80->web_server, can I use the my_public_ip as MX record in DNS? (proxy works before or after NAT?)

    If you make a DNAT for SMTP you will bypass the SMTP-Proxy. The SMTP-Proxy is not transparent. You have to point the MX to the external interface of the ASL.

    By the way. POP3-Proxy is transparent. SMTP-Proxy is not.
