voice over ip

hi together

i would like to phone over ip using gnomemeeting on a suse linux 8.2 distribution.
everything seems to run on suse but astaro blocks incomming calls and/or connections.
it´s nice to see that astaro works fine but userrerror (me) makes it impossible to connect to others.

so may sombody help me to configure my firewall please.
my internal network configuration looks like this:

astaro ip 192.168.0.254
pc1 ip 192.168.0.5
i have a fixed external ip
gnomemeetin tries to connect on port 1720

i configured the firewall to allow all connections from internal network to any service
an dnat- entry for port 1720 to my pc is configured, and i configuered a rule to allow connecting on port 1720 to 192.168.0.5

however, connecting to my http-server on suse using dnat works fine so i thought, i could copy all entries for gnomemeeting and should only change the ports but it won´t work at all.

I do not have alot of experience with VOIP but I will need it soon myself. It may be that you need a firewall that fully supports H.323. I am not sure of this though. This is what I was told by our Avaya rep. I have not yet confirmed this though. If anyone here has any actual experience please let us know.

what protocol does it use, h323? where you loging on? voip requires a gatekeeper! have you checked your kernel log? what does it says? some programms need more ports.

with dnat/snat

and under packet filter:
Any PHONE MY_PC Allow

so i know, that it is my fault, but i can´t find where.

hmm, in your logfile is src your client and dst the server, but your packetfilter rule is not complete. you have "any phone pc_home allow". i think you should add "pc_home phone any allow" or better: if your gatekeeper has a static ip, use this as destination.

i have a rule for internal_network to any -> allow. my little home-network won´t be abused by another one but me

than it works not correctly, because the packetfilter log it. create a explizit rule for that so we can test it. try again and view the log. what does it say?
