I have a 1 M line to my local ISP. The ASL external interface is connected to a CISCO router. While checking the ASL Network Connection Graphs I have the following question:
I have a lot user browsing the Internet all the time. But if I look to the “used bandwidth”, they are reaching just the half (300 – 500k) of the available bandwidth. To double-check it, I downloaded something via FTP and reached almost the limit
(1000 k) of the available bandwidth.
Of course, Internet speed is depending on different things, but at the moment the average user never reached the limit while browsing the Internet.
How can I fine-tune that? Is the firewall (or Proxy) reducing the possible bandwidth?
Please give a suggestion.
