HowTo protect a Web-server behind ASL?

I have placed a web server behind ASL, the port forwarding  works fine! and everybody can access the server but ...

I want to keep this server secured from the outside world and the thing that passed my mind that is would be logical to have some kind of a webserver/proxy like the SMTP proxy that actually forwards the http(s) requests from the actual webserver towards the client in a transparant way.
